great classical symbolism here, and i enjoy the muted moodiness of the piece too...the elements flow together nicely while retaining their own technical autonomy and (therefore) their own context as well as the combined meanings.

Thanks for your comments, Joseph. If I had my druthers I’d use brushes and pencils to create art but I have no talent there, so I’m lucky that there’s an abundance of great stock at my disposal… it's a lot of fun playing in Photoshop and gives me a means to express myself... :)

A wonderfully executed idea! I didn't get in trouble at school for reading too much, but I did get in trouble at home when my parents would catch me reading into the wee hours of the morning because I just couldn't put my book down. I don't get in trouble now that I'm older, but my husband catches me reading when I should be sleeping and thinks I'm nuts. lol :)

Dina, thanks muchly for your comments and :+fav:! I got into trouble for reading into the wee hours of the morning too. I lost count of the times my flashlight and batteries got confiscated – I think most of my allowance, birthday and Christmas money went into buying new ones so that I could keep on reading under the covers!

When I was a kid I kept getting into trouble at school because I read too much! Books have always been a huge part of my life, but the ironical thing is that now I’m spending too much time on DA and not finding enough time to read. :( Oh well, life’s a challenge, that’s part of the fun… Thanks so much for your sweet comments and :+fav:, Barbara!

Did you?? Wow, I did too, until they found out at age 12 I was reading above college level. :giggle: Then the teachers started bringing me books from home to read because the schools books were too easy for me(I read about 15 books a week)
I am finding the same thing here, so much art work and DA time my reading has been a bit off lately. I hope to fix that soon:nod:
And, sweetie, you are so very welcome:hug:

When I was 12 I used to sneak into the school library every time there was gym (we had to wear freaking ugly BLOOMERS for gym uniforms :fear: I was skinny and mercilessly teased whenever I wore them). After a few weeks of this the principal gave up giving me detentions and I was left in peace to plow my way through a good part of the library books. :boogie: To this day I carry a book with me pretty much wherever I go, I feel kinda naked without one…

Oh yes, this too is the year I discovered John Steinbeck and Somerset Maugham. Wow, what amazing writers they both were.
I also carry a book everywhere I go. So nice to meet someone else who feels the same way. My hubby laughs because I won't buy any purse that won't fit all my stuffs plus a book:giggle:
